Course Overview


This course introduces students to the fundamentals of visual communication through graphic design, typography, and motion graphics while helping them build creative and technical digital design skills.

Course Objectives


By the end of the course, students will:

  • Understand the fundamentals of visual communication and graphic design.
  • Learn creative and technical skills through digital design and visual storytelling.
  • Explore typography, branding, and motion graphics techniques.
  • Develop beginner-level projects including posters, logos, animations, and promotional content.
  • Build a beginner-level portfolio of contemporary design projects.

Weekly Breakdown

Week 1: Fundamentals of Graphic Design


Instructor: Ms. Zeeraq Naqvi & Ms. Nimra Akram

Venue: Lab 5

  • Learn about graphic design softwares.
  • Produce original posters, logos, and social media graphics.
  • Learn to apply colors, fonts, and layouts effectively in designs.
  • Create basic branding material and promotional content.
  • Create a personal design portfolio.

Week 2: Typography


Instructor: Mr. Mazhar Hussian & Kashif Rafique

Venue: Lab 5 & Seminar LG

  • Learn to identify basic typography categories.
  • Create typographic compositions using hierarchy, scale, spacing, and alignment.
  • Develop engaging word-based visuals and experimental letterforms.
  • Explore digital and hand-made techniques for typography design.
  • Demonstrate creative thinking skills through visual experimentation.

Week 3: Motion Graphics


Instructor: Ms. Zeeraq Naqvi & Ms. Nimra Akram

Venue: Lab 5

  • Learn to use motion graphics software.
  • Learn to create smooth animation and transition effects effectively.
  • Create engaging animated visual content.
  • Execute animated motion graphics projects.
