This course teaches full-stack web development using the MERN stack. Students will build modern web applications using React for frontend, Node.js & Express for backend, and MongoDB for database management. The course also includes deployment and authentication concepts.

Course Objectives

  • Understand MERN stack architecture (MongoDB, Express, React, Node).
  • Build dynamic frontend applications using React.js.
  • Develop backend RESTful APIs using Node.js & Express.
  • Manage database operations using MongoDB & Mongoose.
  • Deploy full-stack applications from scratch.

Weekly Breakdown

Week 1: MERN Introduction & React Basics

  • Introduction to Full-Stack Development & MERN architecture.
  • React.js basics: JSX, components, props.
  • State management using useState hook.
  • Event handling & conditional rendering.
  • Mini Project: To-Do List Application.

Week 2: Advanced React & Routing

  • React lifecycle & useEffect hook.
  • Fetching APIs using fetch/axios.
  • React Router setup for multi-page apps.
  • Handling routes, parameters & navigation.
  • Mini Project: Product Catalog System.

Week 3: Node.js & Express Backend

  • Introduction to Node.js runtime & NPM.
  • Creating Express server & routing.
  • Request/Response handling.
  • Building CRUD APIs (GET, POST, PUT, DELETE).
  • Practice API: Product Management System.

Week 4: MongoDB & Database Integration

  • SQL vs NoSQL database concepts.
  • MongoDB Atlas setup & connection.
  • Mongoose schemas & models.
  • CRUD operations with database.
  • API with real database integration.

Week 5: Full-Stack Integration & Authentication

  • Connecting React with Node.js backend.
  • CORS handling & API integration.
  • Form submissions from frontend to backend.
  • JWT authentication basics.
  • Password hashing using bcrypt.

Week 6: Final Project & Deployment

  • Final project selection (E-commerce, Blog, Dashboard, etc.).
  • Project architecture setup.
  • Instructor guided development.
  • Testing & debugging full application.
  • Final presentation & certificate distribution.
